Venue and working scale

A citywide, multi-campus program centered on LVCC and Venetian Expo, with substantial indoor walking and nontrivial travel between clusters.

Is it worth the journey?

Organize CES by decisions, not by halls. Choose one daily question, product direction, partners, investment, procurement or reporting, then map only the exhibits, sessions and meetings that answer it. Keep LVCC and Venetian Expo blocks separate unless the transfer is deliberately buffered.

Best for

  • Technology, retail, investment, media and enterprise teams with qualifying credentials and measurable objectives
  • Product leaders comparing categories or meeting partners who are otherwise distributed globally

Think twice if

  • You cannot document industry affiliation or expect general-public admission
  • Your itinerary crosses LVCC, Venetian Expo and hotel meetings repeatedly without transfer buffers

What CES is really like

CES returns to Las Vegas from January 6 to 9, 2027 as a trade-only technology event spanning the Las Vegas Convention Center, Venetian Expo and other programmed venues. The audience mixes product teams, retailers, investors, media, policymakers, suppliers and enterprise buyers across an unusually broad technology landscape.

The scale makes improvisation expensive. Registration requires consumer-technology industry affiliation, age 18 or older, identity information and supporting business credentials. Build each day around one venue cluster and a short list of decisions; a badge and a hotel do not make cross-campus travel instantaneous.

Why it earns the journey

  • The show concentrates product announcements, prototypes and commercial decision-makers across most major consumer-technology sectors.
  • Face-to-face comparison can expose the difference between a polished demonstration and a product or partnership that is operationally ready.
  • Las Vegas provides enormous event infrastructure, but the payoff comes from disciplined routing and prebooked conversations.

The moments worth planning around

The first mapped show-floor sprint

A 90-minute route through one product category can produce better comparisons than an unstructured half-day across unrelated halls.

A live product proof point

Ask the same readiness, deployment, evidence and pricing questions at competing demonstrations; record constraints as carefully as features.

One high-value stage session

Use a keynote or panel to understand a market-level argument, then test it against product teams and buyers rather than treating the stage as the final word.

A protected off-floor dinner

Esther’s Kitchen suits a thoughtful downtown team meal; Lotus of Siam is a proven group option when the location and reservation fit the day’s route.

Planning your visit

Reserve

Register only through CES, use a unique email, submit current proof of industry affiliation and ensure the badge name matches government ID. The Standard Pass rate rises after November 30; do not buy credentials from a third party.

Official reservation guide

Arrive

CES is multi-venue. The official transport page warns that the monorail does not serve Venetian Expo and that there is no public parking at LVCC or Venetian Expo. Its detailed operating copy was still being updated for 2027, so recheck shuttle routes, hours and pickup points before travel.

Budget

Start with the current USD 149 Standard Pass, then add compressed hotel rates, resort fees, airfare, local transport, meals and staff time. Premium access should be purchased only when its specific conference and lounge benefits match the work plan.

Handle the crowds

Hall openings, keynote transitions and inter-campus moves create the worst congestion. Cluster appointments geographically, add walking time inside each complex and protect meal and hydration windows.

Bring the family

CES is trade-only and registrants must be at least 18. Do not plan on bringing children or unregistered companions into show areas; confirm any caregiver or companion logistics outside the badge-controlled program.

Accessibility

CES publishes accessibility and on-site service guidance and accepts ADA shuttle requests. Contact the organizer before travel, describe the specific need and verify the 2027 accessible route between the actual hotel and venue cluster.

Where to stay

A CES hotel is a routing decision. LVCC-adjacent hotels protect show-floor time; Venetian-side hotels simplify that expo and many meetings. Neither solves every campus. Choose after the agenda is mapped and verify fees, cancellation terms and the actual 2027 transport plan.

LVCC / Paradise Road

Best for: Early LVCC access and monorail proximity

Tradeoff: Less convenient for Venetian Expo and many Strip meetings

Venetian / north-central Strip

Best for: Venetian Expo, meetings and extensive dining

Tradeoff: Premium rates and no direct monorail stop at the expo

Central Strip

Best for: Balanced hotel inventory and evening meetings

Tradeoff: Daily travel in both directions and very large resort interiors

Convention Center / Paradise Road

Courtyard by Marriott Las Vegas Convention Center

upper mid range

A practical non-casino hotel steps from the convention district and monorail, suited to early LVCC starts without the sensory load of a large Strip resort.

Know before booking: CES spans multiple venues, the food program is limited and the monorail does not serve Venetian Expo. Confirm the assigned venues before treating this as a universal walking base.

Venetian Expo / north-central Strip

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas

luxury

Direct access to Venetian Expo and extensive on-property meeting and dining infrastructure make it operationally strong when that campus dominates the agenda.

Know before booking: It is expensive, extremely large and not adjacent to every LVCC hall. Resort fees, long indoor walks and CES room compression need to be priced honestly.

Hotel ratings move over time. We check at least two independent sources and include a drawback, but you should still read recent reviews before paying.

How to use Las Vegas beyond the event

LVCC sits east of the Strip; Venetian Expo is integrated with the Venetian complex; many meetings occur in resort suites elsewhere. Map every appointment by actual building and entrance. A location that looks close on a road map may still involve a long indoor walk or an awkward crossing.

Arts District reset

A planned downtown meal or gallery walk can provide relief from the Strip, but it should follow one finished venue cluster rather than sit between critical appointments.

One desert half-day

Red Rock Canyon is worthwhile only with protected time, suitable weather and a transport plan; it is not a gap-filler between CES sessions.

A quiet team debrief

Reserve a calm space before dinner to consolidate leads and decisions. Casino-floor improvisation is a poor substitute for a structured daily review.

Where to eat

Esther’s Kitchen is a respected Arts District option with an active official reservation channel. Lotus of Siam is a long-established Las Vegas Thai restaurant with current official locations and independent Eater coverage.

Arts District · Seasonal Italian

Esther’s Kitchen

upper mid range

A strong team-dinner choice away from the casino corridor, with handmade pasta and a setting that supports a real debrief.

Know before booking: It requires a deliberate ride from the convention campuses and reservations are difficult during major weeks. Confirm the current address and service time.

Flamingo Road · Northern Thai

Lotus of Siam

upper mid range

A recognized Las Vegas institution that works for groups seeking a meal with a strong local identity beyond generic resort dining.

Know before booking: There are multiple locations and demand is high. Confirm the exact address, reservation and transport from the final CES venue.

Restaurant details and hours can change. Reconfirm the operating day and reserve directly before relying on a recommendation.

Sources and methodology

Dates, access, prices and material planning claims use current organizer, venue, government or recognized independent sources checked on August 12, 2026. Edition-stale organizer pages are used only for stable background and are explicitly excluded from 2027 operating claims. Hotel evidence was checked on Booking.com and Tripadvisor. Dining choices require a live official page and recognized independent evidence. Every photograph has exact reuse evidence, credit and a verified file hash.
